Commencement ceremonies were held May 13 for the Kent State East Liverpool Campus, during which Dr. Steve Nameth, dean of the Kent State Columbiana County Campuses, presided over the event, along with Dr. Susan Rossi, assistant dean for the East Liverpool Campus.
The keynote speaker was Rep. Timothy Ginter, state representative for the 5th Ohio House District.
Approximately 400 degrees were conferred this semester between the East Liverpool and Salem campuses.

Kent State University is offering two free micro-credential courses this spring to high school juniors and seniors, as well as industry professionals, fresh starters, educators, upskillers, reskillers and those excited about the world of semiconductors. The courses – Introduction to Semiconductor Devices and Sand to Silicon – are primarily online, with one planned in-person lab during the semester.
Kent State at Salem held its White Coat Ceremony for students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, signifying a rite of passage as they transition into the nursing field.
Denise A. Seachrist, Ph.D., dean and chief administrative officer of Kent State University at Salem, announced those students named to the Fall 2024 President’s and Dean’s lists. To qualify for the President’s List, students must have a 4.0 grade point average and must have completed 15 hours during the semester. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must earn a 3.40 or greater grade point average and must have completed 12 or more credit hours for the semester, the majority at the Salem Campus.
