Remembering CPM Alumni

Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine (CPM) sends their condolences to the friends, family, and classmates of its alumni that have recently passed. Please see the full obituaries below for information on where to make donations in their honor.

David A. Spring, DPM,  Class of 1964. Dr. David Spring passed away unexpectedly at home in Baton Rouge on Saturday, July  18, 2021. Born 80 years ago in Zanesville, Ohio, Dr. Spring lived a life of service as an Army veteran, furthering the profession through leadership roles on various boards and associations, volunteering and caring for the community in his Baton Rouge practice. 

 

 

Vernon D. Holleman, MD, Adjunct Faculty and Clinician. Dr. Holleman passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020 at the age of 89. Born on October 1, 1931 in Brownwood, Texas, Dr. Holleman graduated from Baylor Medical School in Houston and spent his life serving the medical community and helping others. Dr. Holleman served as adjunct faculty and clinician of the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine from 1982 - 1986. 

 

Bennie L. Owens, Housekeeping & Maintenance Staff. Bennie Owens passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021. Bennie was hired to handle housekeeping and maintenance work at the College in 1956 at the Cornell Road campus near Case Western University, and retired in 1998 following over 40 years of service. To this day, when alumni reconnect with the College, they often ask about Bennie and his wife, Lillie Mae, who also worked for the College. Mark A. Lambert, DPM, FACFAS, Class of 1996. Dr. Mark Lambert passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the age of 57. Born November 2, 1963 in Pensacola, Florida, Dr. Lambert earned the Baird Johnson Award and was listed in "Who's Who in American Medical Colleges and Universities" upon graduation from KSUCPM. Dr. Lambert traveled and trained in Europe extensively to keep up with the latest techniques in Podiatry and Reconstructive Foot & Ankle Surgery.

 

Richard S. Jason, DPM, Class of 1969. Dr. Richard Jason passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 following a battle with cancer. Born May 7, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Jason graduated KSUCPM in 1969. As a Board Certified Podiatrist and Foot & Ankle Surgeon, he practiced in the Jacksonville and Palatka, Florida areas for 50 years where he served the communities proudly and with respect.
