Mauritania Cultural Café

Join ISSS and the Office of Global Education for our final Cultural Café of the semester! This International Education Week, we welcome Idrissa Diakite (Master's student, Translation Studies) from Mauritania. Growing up in a multicultural environment, Idrissa acquired proficiency in four languages and is passionate about normalizing language access across systems and exploring different cultures and values. Attendees will enjoy a free lunch featuring some staples of Mauritania's cuisine and an informative presentation from Idrissa about his home country.

Three female pilots from Kent State University College of Aeronautics and Engineering’s professional pilot program secured a top-five finish in the 2024 Air Race Classic (ARC) Air Derby, showcasing their aviation skills across Ohio's skies.Unlike the traditional Air Race Classic, the ARC Air Derby allows teams to create their own routes, completing five legs of at least 65 nautical miles each in a single day between Sept. 28 and Oct. 6.
