Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
Kent State's Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner concentration will prepare you to provide advanced nursing care to adults with complex, acute and chronic illnesses.
Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP (AGACNP) students learn a wide variety of procedures and gain experience in moderate to high-acuity clinical settings where patient care requirements include complex monitoring and therapies.
The demand for AG-ACNP's has grown rapidly along with the complexity in the acute healthcare environment. They provide advanced nursing and specialized care to adults with complex, acute and chronic illnesses. In addition to managing patient care, they utilize invasive interventions and procedures to promote physiologic stability.
In this role, you may work in a variety of acute and hospital-based settings such as specialty clinics, emergency departments, and acute, sub-acute, and intensive/critical care areas, as well as post-acute settings including homes, ambulatory care, urgent care, and rehabilitative care.
