Kent State senior Carter Adams is committed to journalism and keeping media professionals safe.

After a national search, the School of Journalism and Mass Communication (now the School of Media and Journalism) at Kent State University has named Dr. Emily Metzgar as its new director, beginning July 1.

This winter at Kent State, an art show and featured speaker on mental health will honor the life and legacy of assistant professor and artist Christopher Darling, who died June 2018.

The College of Communication and Information at Kent State University is pleased to announce the return of the 2020 David and Janet Dix Lecture in Media Ethics funded through the generosity of David and Janet Dix.

Artifacts of May 4, 1970 – a survivor’s jacket, a gas mask and gun shell casing – tell a story that’s not often accessible to the general public. Assistant Professor Abe Avnisan and students in his digital sciences capstone course will bring these artifacts’ stories to life via the exhibit “May 4: Through the Looking Glass.”

Kent State Student Media won 18 national awards presented by The College Media Association and The Associated Collegiate Press at the 2019 National College Media Convention in Washington, D.C. from Friday, Nov. 1 to Saturday, Nov.2.

The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) awarded PRSSA Kent the highest national honors for a chapter, the 2019 Outstanding Chapter Award. Public relations major Vanessa Gresley, PRSSA Kent’s vice president of professional relations, earned the Gold Key Award, the highest PRSSA honor for students.
