With a new semester fast approaching, Kent State University community members are focusing on new projects and initiatives, and welcoming and nurturing our new students, as well as already resetting to foster and strengthen recruiting efforts for the incoming 2019 class.
Faculty, staff, students and visitors to Kent State University will no longer have to deal with orange barrels, detours and traffic delays on Summit Street. After more than two years of construction, the Summit Street: Building a Better Way Improvement Project is scheduled to be completed in time for the start of fall classes.
KSU Kickoff, Kent State University’s four-day new student orientation, will take place from Aug. 19-22. Students can select from more than 50 different events from Sunday to Wednesday. KSU Kickoff helps students transition into the university community and learn about academic and social opportunities at Kent State.
More than 1,100 volunteers from the Kent State University community will welcome and assist new students as they move into their residence halls on freshman move-in day, Sunday, Aug. 19. The annual service program, known as Movers and Groovers, is coordinated by Kent Interhall Council, the student government of the Kent Campus residence halls.
Online final grading for Summer 2018 Summer Full Term (1: 5/21/2018 – 8/18/2018), Second 7 Weeks (W2: 7/2/2018 – 8/18/2018), Summer 3 (S3: 7/16/2018 – 8/18/2018) begins Thursday, Aug. 16, via FlashFAST. Grading is also now available for any summer 2018 course section that was flexibly scheduled. The deadline for grading submission is midnight on Sunday, Aug. 19. Any final grades for summer 2018 courses not reported in FlashFAST by the grades processing deadline will have to be submitted using the Grade Change Workflow.
