This fall, Kent State University’s College of Business Administration will begin offering direct admission to its Master of Business Administration (MBA) program to qualifying, incoming freshmen and students transferring into business programs. Kent State is the first university in Ohio to initiate this program offering students a direct path from their undergraduate studies to the university’s nationally recognized MBA program.
No separate application is required, but incoming freshmen will have to meet certain high school academic requirements. Requirements for transfer students will be based on a combination of high school and college transcripts.
While enrolled at Kent State, students in the program will have to engage in specific undergraduate coursework, with course GPA and cumulative GPA requirements. Students will submit their formal graduate applications in their junior year, and through the Guaranteed MBA Admission Program, their graduate application fee, requirements for letters of recommendation and essay of goals and objectives, and GMAT/GRE tests will be waived.
Through this program, a student in Kent State’s College of Business Administration could complete their bachelor’s degree and MBA in as little as five years.
Kent State’s online MBA program was ranked No. 26 in The Princeton Review’s Top 50 Online MBA Programs for 2021, making it the highest-ranked institution in Ohio on the list. Kent State’s in-person MBA program was also included in The Princeton Review’s Best Business Schools list for 2021. In addition, Kent State’s Online MBA program is ranked by U.S. News and World Report, and the business analytics concentration is ranked No. 25 in the nation.
“This program represents another way that Kent State puts students first,” said Roberto Chavez, graduate programs director in Kent State’s College of Business Administration. “The Guaranteed MBA Admission Program offers access to opportunity through a pathway to graduate education and promotes interest in graduate education for new students in a seamless way from the first day they connect with Kent State.”
