The Kent State University Museum brings the work of contemporary fashion designers from two southern African nations to Ohio in a new exhibition.
“(dis)ABLED BEAUTY: The Evolution of Beauty, Disability and Ability” will run July 29, 2016, to March 12, 2017, in the museum’s Stager and Blum Galleries. There will also be a free reception on Thursday, September 29, from 5 to 7 p.m.
“Fashions of Southern Africa” is curated by Sara Hume, Ph.D., and runs August 26, 2016 - July 2, 2017 in the museum’s Higbee Gallery. The museum will also host a free preview reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 25.
