America was watching as Kent State dominated Akron 69-35 to retain the coveted Wagon Wheel in the annual clash of football rivals at Dix Stadium.
ESPN carried the Nov. 17 game to a national prime time audience, which saw the Golden Flashes win their seventh straight game going back to last year while pushing their season record to 3-0.
Kent State defeated Eastern Michigan 27-23 Wednesday at Dix Stadium in the season opener for both teams.

The College of the Arts and the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music are pleased to announce the launch of the 鈥淢arching Golden Flash Award.鈥 This new scholarship opportunity will be available to all returning members of the Marching Golden Flashes as well as incoming Kent State students. It is open to students of any major starting in the fall 2020 season.

At the same time that Kent State is competing in a bowl game, as many as 1,000 kids in Texas will be eating a meal that the Golden Flashes helped provide.
Kent State worked out Tuesday at the Dallas Cowboys鈥 Training Facility 鈥 鈥 for the first of three workouts ahead of Friday鈥檚 Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl against Utah State.
