There is a light inside every Golden Flash, and it is our charge to shine that light on others. Kent State’s most generous annual tradition, Giving Tuesday, encourages us to reflect on our experiences and shine our light to make our communities Forever Brighter.

Kent State University supporters once again joined together during the university’s Giving Tuesday campaign to raise more than $2.8 million to support a variety of student scholarships and programs.

At Kent State University, we are continuing the proud tradition of giving back during the Giving Tuesday campaign this November. This monthlong celebration of giving brings the Kent State community together to support student success and build a brighter future for the blue and gold.

This November, members of the Kent State University community joined together to shine their light on philanthropy. During the November campaign, Kent State’s Giving Tuesday raised $3.6 million, marking the sixth year it has brought in more than $1 million to support scholarships and programs across Kent State’s eight-campus system.

This Giving Tuesday, shine your light on Kent State students and programs with a gift of $25 or more to the fund of your choice and receive a special Forever Brighter pin to celebrate your impact. Kent State’s most generous annual tradition runs Nov. 1-29, with special giving incentives throughout the month. Make your impact go further by participating in Giving Tuesday!

On Thursday, Nov. 3 at 5:30 p.m., the women’s basketball team will be hosting Mercyhurst University in the MAC Center for their first game of the season. All Kent State faculty and staff who present a valid Kent State ID will receive free admission for themselves and one guest.

This year, Kent State University donors demonstrated the power of philanthropy by giving at unprecedented levels. The 2021 Giving Tuesday campaign shattered the previous records, more than tripling last year’s record of $2.2 million.

Kent State University’s Glauser School of Music received a significant planned gift during the 2021 Giving Tuesday campaign to support students in pursuing piano performance, orchestra, opera and education-abroad opportunities.

Kent State University’s season of giving launched on Nov. 1 with Giving Tuesday, a monthlong celebration of philanthropy. Now halfway through the campaign, the generosity of the Kent State community has already begun to shine.
